This IQ folder from Ray is pure precision. It measures 6 1/2" open, 3 7/8" closed, and has a 2 3/4" blade. If you are not familiar with the IQ mechanism, one simply opens the blade and pushes it straight back into the handle to lock it. Closing is simply a reverse of that motion. The pivot is inlaid with sectioned copper discs. This knife is signed "Ray Appleton 5/22/86", so it is an early example of this makers work. The mechanism is flawless, and this is a very collectable piece from a maker who has only made a couple of hundred knives in his career.
