Charles Kain is somewhat new in the knifemaking field, having made and exhibited his first knives in 1998. A former clockmaker, Charles had always had a fascination with damascus knives, and, on one knife in particular, even merged his knowledge of clocks into a one of a kind gear driven automatic folder. He makes fixed blades, folders, and some automatics, and the themes are largely derived from the mythology that Charles is deeply involved in. His "DarkLight" series of knives are heavily based on that mythology. He already has developed new mechanisms, and there will be a factory collaboration with his "Fulcrum" series of scissor action opening knives. Charles forges his own damascus, and uses a lot of natural materials in his creations like Ivory, Abalone, and various mother of pearls. A maker to watch, as his knives stand out as definitely unique in the knifemaking world.
