Joe Kious has been a full time knife maker since 1969.He specializes in all types of investment grade folders, both manual and automatic, in interframe and bolstered models. He does make some fixed blade knives on occasion. Joe uses stainless steel, and both stainless and non stainless damascus from many of the top forgers. He favors the use of natural materials for his handles like mother of pearl, Mammoth and Mastodon ivory, various stones, woods, precious metals like gold, and various gemstones. Many of his knives are graced with engraving from some of the top engravers working today. Joe has a very big backlog on orders, so it is not always easy to get a knife from him.
