These folding mid lock daggers from Jean-Pierre are just part of the reason he is rapidly becoming a favorite maker for many collectors. Flawless in design and function, they have a place in virtually any collection of fine knives. Made in the French tradition of maximizing blade to handle ratio, these pieces are a pleasure to look at and hold. The larger piece is 9 ½” open, 5 1/8” closed, and has a 4 ½” blade. The smaller are 8 3/8” open, 4 ½” closed, and have a 4” blade. The blades are a fine satin finish which blends beautifully with the high polish of the handles. The antique Tortoise inlays are underlaid with gold foil for maximum beauty. Hard to show in a picture is the raised ridge that runs all the way through the center of the knife, including the Tortoise inlay. The backspacers are stippled, and the blade is actually ground from much thicker stock simply to allow the raised nail opener to be integrated into the blade rather than attached separately or ground down in. Stunning in absolutely every way, and the action has to be felt to be believed. We will hear much more from this maker soon, don’t wait to add one of his pieces to your collection.
