C Gray Taylor is a full time knifemaker, having sold his first knife in 1975. He is well known for his He is well known for his fancy multiple blade art knives and period pieces in both slipjoint and locking style blades. Gray's patterns also include fighters, bowies, and daggers, and he works primarily in ATS-34, 154CM, and 440C stainless steels. He uses natural handle materials like mother of pearl, Abalone, fossil ivories, and many others. His Sheffield style multi blades are a particular favorite among collectors.
