Dwight Towell is a part time knifemaker who sold his first knife in 1970. He specializes in elegant working knives and high art pieces. His patterns include hunters, daggers, bowies, and different styles of folding knives. He typically uses 154CM stainless steel, but uses some damascus as well. He does some engraving and gold inlay on his art pieces. He favors natural handle materials like various woods, Jade and other stones, fossil ivories, and mother of pearl. Dwight is a member of the prestigious group of twenty five makers who take part in the semi annual Art Knife Invitational in San Diego.
