Prototype #1 of Butch’s “Kickstart” spring assisted openers. The satin blade is 3 5/8” and the OAL is 8 ¼”. The scales are black micarta. There is a fileworked thumbstud on each side of the blade for right or left hand opening. The handle has a ramped slide for blade release, and a thonghole. “Butch Vallotton Custom Knives” is stamped on one side of the blade and “Kickstart” Prototype #1” is on the other along with “Pat Pend” and the letters “SAL” Very fast and tight. Shows very slight wear from handling, as many real prototypes do. Very collectable.
